SPOOKTACULAR 2020
Spooktacular is a SAFE, fun, family experience that takes place Halloween Night, October 31st at the Sawgrass campus of Church By The Glades following the 5:30pm and 7:30pm evening services. Join us for a short service followed by costumes, excitement, and CANDY!
Admission is 2 large bags of Candy. You can also donate by texting the word “GIVE” to 954- 329-1818.
With everything getting shut down and canceled over the last 7 months, we were determined to still do our annual Halloween "Spooktacular" event with SAFETY and FUN being our focus! Social distancing, masks, and sanitizing EVERYTHING will be a top priority in an effort to create an amazing event for your family and friends. Spooktacular is an event that starts with a short message from our pastor and ends with collecting a bucketful of candy from one of our "Touch-Free Candy Drop Zones" we created. If you are looking for a SAFE environment for your kids to trick-or-treat, grab them, their costume, your friends and family, and get to Spooktacular THIS WEEKEND.
FAQs
What time should I arrive?
The entire event will happen at two times: 5:30 and 7:30 pm. We encourage you to be on time as we expect a good crowd. As an added bonus, those who start in the brief service will be first in line.
How Much Does it Cost?
We only ask that you provide 2 large bags of unopened candy per child as your entry into the event.
What ages can Participate?
This is an event for kids but we do encourage families to get into the fun. Feel free to come in a costume and enjoy the entire event as a family.
Do I need to bring a basket for Candy?
We actually ask that you leave your Halloween bucket at home. We will provide a bucket for you when you arrive.
Do parents stay with their children?
Yes. The kids and parents will be together for the brief church service and the "Touch-Free Candy Drop" directly after. Don’t worry, we have young kids and know how hard it can be to get them to sit still in church. We have a lot planned to make it a fun experience for them and for you.
Will it be too scary for my children?
We like to say that this is event is Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride meets church. We have worked hard to create an exciting and entertaining experience for you and your little ones without scaring anyone.
Where will children go for service?
Kids will join parents in the main auditorium for the brief service. The service has been modified from its standard format to accommodate the fact that children will be in the room. Attending service is your FAST PASS to entering the Spooktacular event first.
Are masks required?
Yes. In keeping with all COVID-19 protocols, we are requiring everyone in attendance to adhere to the CDC guidelines for masks.
Are there any restrictions on costumes?
This is a church event. While we welcome everyone, we ask that you keep in mind that there will be families and little children present. Please wear modest costumes and please refrain from overly gory or scary attire. We want to make it fun for the kids.
How will the candy be delivered safely?
Our amazingly creative team has designed a "Touch-Free Candy Drop Zone". This “candy drop” is where we will be able to drop a full bucket of candy right to your little one's bucket without them having to touch the person distributing it. In true Church by the Glades style, we couldn’t just hand you candy. You won’t want to miss this SAFE but cool way to get candy to your little ones.
Will social distancing procedures be in place?
There will be social distancing measures taken throughout the event: six feet between families in-line per CDC guidelines, and appropriate spacing in the auditorium.
Can I just come to the Spooktacular event without attending church?
Everyone is welcome at Church by the Glades. Our hope would be that you would join us for a brief church service before going to the candy drop event. If you choose to not attend the service you can attend the Spooktacular event, but you will be asked to wait until everyone who attended the service has gone through first.
